Young, hot females (and Elon Musk!) are the apex predators of the attention pyramid. Anybody wants to be them. Unhot women and most men typically aspire to attention by becoming extremely skillful and relevant in a specific area — ex./ Hillary Clinton, Jordan Peterson. However, it’s a super competitive arena and most obviously don’t make it — the losers of the race to actual virtue therefore seek attention by virtue signaling.

Karen is the virtue-signaling enforcer archetype — a middle-aged, sexually frustrated, slightly dim-witted but an extremely aggressive female administrator at any organization that will:

1. enforce the whole company add She/Her pronouns to signatures
2. ask the lone British-born black employee at the Hong Kong office to go on a panel to speak about US race politics
3. measure how much time do employees spend on the toilet each day, record it in a spreadsheet and escalate to top management

Karens are the first to be outraged by anything, especially by any woman being hotter than them (any woman!) and dating OR any man getting laid (obviously not with her!), which makes them the perfect mind virus vector.

Mind virus replication strategies are either Fun (self-driven, natural, positive) or Enforcement (top-down, artificial, negative). While fun is clearly the faster and more efficient replication method, due to legacy organizational and incentives alignment structures humanity has always relied on meme enforcement. From the time the Pharaoh made the Jews build the pyramids to now Woke ideology conquering Big Tech, large corporates, legacy news outlets and the entire entertainment industry.
