Introduction

MetaScapes is an immersive experience created by Vulcan Forged, that empowers players to engage in a boundless realm of creation, design, trading, and collecting lands. Within this virtual universe, players enjoy unlimited possibilities for crafting unique landscapes and establishing ownership rights.

Overview

Each player has the freedom to determine the accessibility and availability of their lands, granting control over who can purchase or utilise them. With the creation of a new land, players can construct intricate structures and sculpt terrains, where the only limitation is their imagination.

Players will also have the opportunity to enhance the value of their lands by incorporating valuable assets and upgrades. As MetaScapes continues to expand, so will the level of creativity, fun and earning opportunities for everyone involved to ensure it meets the wants and needs of several demographics.

MetaScapes provides users with the ability to create their own virtual worlds and experiences using innovative blockchain technology. Users are provided with:

• Unparalleled opportunity to monetise their creations through personal ownership of their digital assets
• The ability to purchase unique builds and assets through MetaScapes and the Elysium Marketplace

MetaScapes themes and Features

So, what exactly can you build? Well, the foundations for MetaScapes have already been set, with 4 themes available for players to start building with; Cartoon, Fantasy, Modern and Realistic. Future themes and styles will be developed, and a number of companies have already registered their interest to create their own unique MetaScapes themed experience.

In addition to this, there will be minigame additions, quest creator tools, advanced terramorphing capabilities and for me the biggest pull of them all, virtual reality. Vulcan Forged have already confirmed that paintballing is already being worked on as a fun addition to the current builds.

Current Development

I was fortunate to be offered the opportunity to test MetaScapes as an original Alpha tester and provide feedback for developers. Since then, Alpha v2 has been released and the progress has been phenomenal. They’ve recently released a 2 minute video on their Twitter which can be found here, and trust me, it’s worth the watch:

AI Integration

As part of their Vulcon3 event, there was a major MetaScapes announcement about the integration of AI technology. They didn’t stop there though, there was also a trailer demonstrating how it could be implemented with a concept video and the results are genuinely mind-blowing, taking creativity and innovation to new levels within this space. ELS-M1 NFT Protocol

Now, I don’t expect anyone to know what ELS-M1 actually means, but it’s good to understand what it allows players/users of MetaScapes to do. Basically, it allows players to transfer MetaScapes NFTs from one Metaverse to another. So for example, if I owned a specific build within my MetaScape that I wanted to gift or sell to someone else to add to their MetaScape build, I would be able to transfer it/sell it on a marketplace. This makes transfer of ownership of unique plots extremely easy and also valuable. Players own what they create, and are now given the power to decide what they wish to do with the time and skill they have invested. Expect to see the community excel and thrive, pushing the barriers on what they can create.

Conclusion

MetaScapes is shaping up to be a serious contender for player engagement and mass adoption with a fun, engaging platform that will no doubt bring the youth of today into the web3 space. To date, breaking down barriers of metaverse technology, virtual reality and NFTs has been a significant challenge, but MetaScapes addresses all three of these areas with relative ease. What’s more, MetaScapes looks more than capable of challenging the behemoths currently dominating the Web2 space but in addition to this, provides their players choice, freedom and opportunity in doing so. Simply put, it’s a Win-Win.
