Altcoin Portfolio Update

As discussed in previous articles, my portfolio is broken into three main categories, each making up approximately 1/3rd of my total portfolio. ETH and BTC are fairly self explanatory. This article will focus on blue chip altcoins, and subsequent articles will deep dive into my speculative altcoins and private sales.

  • Wealth Protection: ETH and BTC.
  • Blue Chip (Mid and Large Cap) Altcoins
  • Speculative Altcoins
  • Chainlink $LINK (ChainLink) [Initial Call $6.50, Current $21.30 (+227%)]

Chainlink is the top infrastructure coin in crypto. With a current MC of only $12B, it is still significantly undervalued despite the moderate rise over the last year. With the CCIP interoperability protocol recently implemented, the large institutional partnerships and integrations, and the narrative rotation from BTC to ETH and L2s, LINK is poised to make some serious gains. This is one of my larger holdings. Target Unchanged: $130-$150

  • Polygon $MATIC (Polygon Labs) [Initial Call $0.87, Current $1.07 (+23%)]

Polygon has lagged the general markets, despite an early run up in price. Polygon 2.0 is a massive catalyst, and is currently live on Testnet and ready for mainet in the coming few months. Again, the narrative shift to ETH and L2s is just starting, and should shift massive interest to L2’s. Polygon’s tech is second to none, and their aggregated zkEVM supernets are set to revolutionize how L2’s work with global liquidity and unified validators (staking). Target Increased $15–18

  • Solana $SOL (Solana) [Initial Call $20.39, Current $128 (+627%)]

Solana has weathered the FTX debacle link a champ. Huge increases in DAU, trading volume and TVL make SOL the top contender for a viable ETH alternative. Given the huge increase in prices, the recent new protocol halts, I have reduced my position markedly and rotated profits into SOL native protocols and ETH layer 2s. To be clear, SOL still has huge potential, however it is my belief that there are better risk/reward bets in the markets. Target unchanged $650–800.

Fantom suffered badly from the Multichain Bridge hack, but has managed to make solid recovery with the integration of Axelar and Layer Zero. They are one of the few ETH L1 alternatives with both parallel transactions and EVM compatibility. With top developer Andre Cronje taking on more responsibility and working his way back into the mix, I expect FTM to make a solid run. Target Increased $8–9

  • Immutable X $IMX (Immutable) [Initial Call $0.76, Current $3.20 (+420%)]

IMX is the top GameFi altcoin. It stands to benefit from the GameFi narrative, which I expect has only just gotten started, as well as the ETH L2 narrative. It is transitioning from the current StarkWare L2 to the a Polygon zkEVM in the coming months, which should pay huge dividends as Polygon native users gain access to the IMX zkEVM. Target Increased $17–20.

  • Polkadot $DOT (Polkadot) [Holdover from previous bull run, Current $9.13]

DOT is a remnant of the 2021 bull run. I hold it only as a result of having contributed to the crowdloans. As they unlock in the coming months, current plans are to divest into other blue chip coins. The developer activity still appears to be quite significant as the substrate tech is solid, but user adoption is lacking and the DOT 2.0 rebrand seems lackluster at first glance. Caveat here is that I need to do a deeper dive to fully investigate the DOT 2.0 initiatives prior to selling any unlocked tokens. Target: Under Review

  • Akash $AKT [ Initial Call $0.50, Current $4.61 (+922%)]

Akash is a super solid AI and Infrastructure play. This is an altcoin I held right through the bear market, and began accumulating near the $0.50 range in early 2023. With the recent run up in prices, I had taken minor profits to allocate to private sales, with the goal of hodling the remainder of my position late into the bull run. AKT was originally in the speculative section of my portfolio, but has graduated to the Blue Chip portion over the past few months. Target: $60–70

  • Osmosis $OSMO (Osmosis Labs) [Initial Call $0.60, Current $1.60 (+266%)]

Osmosis is on the threshold of speculative and blue chip. It is my main play on the Cosmos ecosystem, and a fairly solid means of getting access to Cosmos airdrops, which of late have proven quite lucrative (TIA, DYM, Neurton, etc). Osmosis is the main DEX on Cosmos, and will benefit from the adoption of the chain and ecosystem far better than the ATOM token. Target $16–18

  • Rollbit $RLB (Rollbit) [Initial Call $0.11, Current $0.13 (+18%)]

Rollbit is flying way under the radar. Having run up to over $0.25 a couple months ago, it has had quite a pullback offering a very attractive entry at today’s prices. RLB is one of the top revenue generating projects in crypto, generating millions per day in revenue, and burning roughly $250K in $RLB daily. The hype has died down, but at some point the revenue will take over and the buyback and burn mechanism will continue to push the prices way higher. They have also introduced a new revenue share proposal, which would send the token to the moon overnight if approved. Target $4–5 (40X)

  • BEAM $BEAM (Merit Circle) [Initial Call $0.01, Current $0.035 (+350%)]

Beam is a gameFi Layer 2 originally on Avax. They recently announced a rebrand from Merit Circle, and a shift to Polygon zkEVM layer 2. They have a plethora of big partnerships, and a treasury and investment portfolio of seed sales they invested in at the tail end of the bear market. The beauty of the $BEAM token as an investment is that their treasury profits will be used to buy back and burn the BEAM token as the bull run matures. Target $0.25–0.30

  • NEAR Protocol $NEAR (NEAR Team) [Initial Call $1.86, Current $4.26 (+229%)]

Near is frankly one of the best layer 1 tech stacks out there. It has native sharding, Javascript smart contract programming, parallel transactions and huge TPS capacity. That said, it needs to garner better user adoption to cross the hurdle to the next level. This is a more speculative play. Target $20–25

Hot Mid/Large Cap Prospects to buy on Dips:

  • SUI (Layer 1 with solid TVL and integrations)
  • Arbitrum (Largest ETH L2 with top DAU and TVL metrics)
  • RUNE (Best native cross-chain swaps with growing volume and features)
  • Arweave (Amazing updates with huge tech developments. Price pullback needed for proper risk/reward)
