Global Sounds: International NFTs in November

This year has seen an abundance of NFT releases from some of the music industry’s finest, from Cypress Hill to Eskimo Joe. But 2023 isn’t here yet, and the international music scene is just catching ablaze with NFT-related hype. We’ll be covering some of the most anticipated NFT projects from international artists and organizations still to come before the year’s end.

K-Popular

No one is likely to doubt the immense influence and popularity K-Pop has garnered, so it was only a matter of time before this household genre made its way into the NFT space. One of South Korea’s biggest names, Lee HongKi, recently released his long-anticipated single ”그 자리 (I’m missing you)” as an NFT via the blockchain-built Muverse. The single moved like wildfire — literally selling out within 1 hour of its release. Much of the anticipation for this release was due to HongKi having to finish his military service (which is an obligation in South Korea) before finally returning to the songwriting business. We’re certain this won’t be the last we hear from HongKi in the NFT realm, and that goes double for K-Pop in general.

Swiss Classics
The Lucerne Festival is well-regarded as a top-tier classical music festival held in Lucerne, Switzerland. The city-wide festival spans several months and genres, but this year it’s taken a decidedly new-age turn: an NFT release incorporating unique, limited-edition digital replicas of famous Lucerne Festival posters, available for sale from November 2.

“I’m incredibly excited to launch our first collection of NFTs and share artworks representing our past festivals. This new technology gives us a creative way of reaching an audience that we may not reach through traditional channels”, Michael Haefliger, Executive and Artistic Director of Lucerne Festival, told EINPresswire.com while gearing up for release. It’s great to see NFTs encompassing the broad spectrum of musical genres out there, from traditional to modern iterations.

Ticket Tricks

The electronic music festival ‘elrow XXL’ is being hosted in Dubai with an astonishing 8,000 people capacity, early next year. We just received an interesting development from the festival’s Barcelona-based organizers, Elrow: they’re teaming up with blockchain-company SeatlabNFT to distribute unique experiences to VIP ticket holders. Tickets will come in the form of NFTs that give purchasers access to rare collectables and digital assets that can be airdropped straight to users wallets. Elrow and SetlabNFT also plan to install a ‘blockchain installation’ that will allow NFTs an interesting and novel, hands-on experience.

Virtual Africa

One of South Africa’s leading network operators, MTN Group, has decided to capitalize on the NFT-train, by attempting to funnel its 34.5 million subscribers into the metaverse. MTN will be launching a metaverse platform, AltMTN, that will host a massive virtual music concert this month. Tickets and engagement will happen, of course, via NFTs.

Anna Ogutogullari, founder of QkweQkwe.io — a marketplace for African artists looking to mint and sell NFTs — had this to say to outlet ‘FurtherAfrica’ about the state of digital art in Africa: “At the moment, there are few African layers in the world of digital art, so by encouraging and giving African artists a chance to showcase their talent, we will bring about the change that we want to see in the future African art market. Where Africans support Africans.” We look forward to seeing Africa make its impact on the international NFT-market.

While the bustling web3 space continues to grow, The Publicator will continue to highlight and discuss this ever-changing digital universe. For up and coming artists of all talent levels, it can be tricky to navigate the NFT space with confidence, especially if you’re looking to make a name for yourself. Thankfully, The Publicator is dedicated to creating a platform for artists, fans and NFT enthusiasts that wholly embraces the decentralized future of the music industry.
