Let’s take a moment to bid farewell to a year that’s been like an old friend — familiar, comforting at times, and challenging at others.
Saying goodbye to a year is akin to parting ways with a companion who’s been with us through highs and lows.
We are humans, after all, creatures who seek closure, who yearn to make sense of our experiences.
2023, like any year, had its share of ups and downs.
It brought lessons, joys, sorrows, and memories that will linger.
So many important and well-loved people left us.
So many crises, pains, natural disasters, wars and deaths rocked us.
There were joyful squirts here and there.
But as we stand at the threshold of a new year, it’s crucial to remember that the past should not be a shadow that dims our future.
Sure, the past year might have had its share of mistakes and misfortunes, but don’t let these setbacks define the journey ahead.
I don’t know who needs to hear this but:
Don’t let bad things and bad times shackle your hands and feet.
Looking forward and upwards, not dwelling in the past, is the key.
The past is a tapestry of experiences that we can’t alter, but it’s also the foundation upon which we can build a brighter tomorrow.
I know it can be really hard and moving on isn’t easy.
Picking yourself up when life dealt a heavy blow to you can be miserably tough.
Being strong isn’t about ignoring the pain or the challenges; it’s about recognizing what we can’t change and focusing our energy on what we can control.
The best way to move on from the year gone by?
