Meta revolutionizes AI video Creation with EMU

Meta’s new generative AI research has led to two breakthroughs: ‘Emu Video’ and ‘Emu Edit.’ Emu Video is a streamlined approach for creating high-quality, text-prompted videos through a factorized method, simplifying the process over previous models and producing videos that are preferred for their quality and adherence to prompts.

Emu Edit offers a novel approach to image editing, allowing for precise control over edits with instructions, capable of altering images down to individual pixels without affecting the rest of the image. You can try it here with prefixed images and videos and also you can search their large library. You will be able to upload images and animate them and turn short videos from your own images into those chosen from their libraries. Both represent significant strides in AI’s ability to augment creative processes and offer new ways for people to express themselves digitally.

YouTube to Label AI-Enhanced Videos, preparing for Elections 2024

Just in time for the 2024 elections worldwide, YouTube is mandating labels on AI-generated content to distinguish it from real footage, covering both full videos and Shorts. This measure, aimed at preventing misinformation, will require creators to disclose the use of AI, especially for content that could be mistaken as genuine. Non-compliance could lead to video removal and suspension from monetization programs. Additionally, YouTube will allow music labels to request the removal of AI-generated music that replicates an artist’s voice, although they released an app that allows the cloning of singers, but with their permission. 2024 will be a crazy year, but at least these are positive steps in an attempt to separate real from fake.

OpenAI is killing startups with every update

AI startups face tough competition from OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT. At the Cerebral Valley AI Summit in San Francisco, industry leaders discussed the struggle to differentiate and survive in a space where OpenAI’s dominance is likened to playing basketball against Michael Jordan.

With OpenAI’s significant updates and Microsoft’s $10 billion investment, startups are searching for niche markets and unique strategies, while grappling with challenges like hiring top talent against well-funded giants. Despite the difficulties, there’s a focus on innovation and finding untapped opportunities, such as Poolside’s move to Paris to capitalize on local AI expertise.

🤔 What Does that even Mean?

Recursive Prompting: In AI language models, Recursive Prompting is a technique where the initial input or query is dynamically updated with content generated by the model in subsequent iterations.
