Game Background
The history of Humanity civilization is full of ups and downs. Throughout thousands of years of development, humanity has experienced countless wars and bloodshed, and endured many betrayals and alienation. However, despite all of this, Humanity has continued to explore and discover, constantly driving the progress of civilization forward.
In such a turbulent period of history, the gods have begun to feel dissatisfied with human behavior. In order to punish Humanity for its sins, some gods advocate bringing down divine punishment on Humanity to “purge” it. However, there are still some Gods who appreciate humanity’s wisdom and courage, and they want to establish a fair platform for humanity to prove that human bravery and intelligence are not without merit.
Therefore, these Gods have agreed to select heroes from the river of human civilization, revive them, and summon them to engage in a fair battle with the gods. If these human warriors can emerge victorious, then it can prove that human wisdom and courage are not inferior to the power of the gods. And the prelude to this battle will take place in Vigrid, which will become the battlefield where the Gods and Humanity clash.
The rallying horn has sounded, and the Gods have begun to march, preparing for an epic battle. Human warriors have also embarked on the journey to defend civilization. In this battle, human warriors will face enormous challenges, but they will also demonstrate their courage and intelligence, prove the value of human civilization, and make the Gods recognize and respect humanity once again…
Game Map
Vigrid is a mysterious and dangerous land, with towering mountains and winding rivers that converge like the earth’s veins. It is the borderland between the realm of the gods and the mortal world, and the main battlefield of the Twilight of the Gods, also known as the “War of the Gods”.
Here, the weather is ever-changing, with torrential rains one moment and bright sunshine the next, affecting not only all living beings but also showcasing the wonders and unpredictability of nature. Indigenous people inhabit this land, including various exotic creatures such as orcs, ghosts, and chimeras. Meanwhile, the land is also home to ancient giant tribes, whose towering and robust presence even terrifies the gods, as no one has ever returned alive to tell the consequences of disturbing their rest.
Apart from these creatures, there is also a mysterious protector who dwells in this vast land, known as “Thousand Hands, Thousand Blades”. It is said that her hands hold countless sharp weapons, capable of slicing any cowardly and failed person into pieces. She is one of the most enigmatic beings in this land, revered and respected by people, while also feared for her power.
In Vigrid, whether it is the indigenous people, the giant tribes, or the protector, all are waiting for the coming of the War of the Gods. It will be a deadly battle, a test of courage, wisdom, and perseverance.
Core Gameplay
MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) is a type of multiplayer combat game that is popular among players. The main gameplay revolves around team battles between two different factions, with each team consisting of five players who select different heroes to play the game. Players can choose their favorite heroes and create their unique battle strategies. In addition, players can also choose different skins and use secret skills to upgrade their equipment, gaining more advantages during the game. In this game, players need to have strong teamwork skills. Every player’s choice will affect the entire team’s combat effectiveness, so selecting heroes and formulating tactics is crucial. Players need to cooperate and work together in the game, using each person’s strengths to achieve the ultimate goal of victory. This kind of teamwork game also improves players’ communication and coordination skills, helping to enhance friendship and team awareness among players.
For regular play in AOF, there is a total of 10 players participating, with each team selecting 5 unique heroes for battle. In the game, players can freely choose skins, secret skills, and combine their hero’s characteristics and abilities to develop their own game strategies to ultimately win the game. Players need to use various exciting and complex tactics, such as team composition, development, and counterattacks, to defeat the opponent. The game map consists of three main lanes and four jungle areas. On the three lanes, each faction has a total of nine defensive towers and one main crystal. The enemy’s soldiers will continuously attack these defensive towers and soldiers, and killing them can provide players with gold and experience resources. Ultimately, the faction that destroys the main crystal wins the game. In the jungle area, many neutral creatures inhabit it, and killing these neutral creatures can also provide resources. There are also mysterious and terrifying giants and the river god Naga Siren, who can provide you and your team with unique and decisive power-ups for the game. The game map has many complex terrains that can block vision, and there are also grasses that can be used to hide. Properly using these tactical points can achieve unexpected effects.
Equipment System
Arena of Faith offers players a wide range of equipment options to choose from, based on the characteristics of their heroes and real-time changes in the game. Each equipment item provides a unique effect that enhances the player’s performance in a specific area, making equipment selection and use an important component of the game strategy.
The game features five types of equipment: physical, magic, defense, support, and general. Each type has three levels: basic, intermediate, and advanced. Regardless of the level, each piece of equipment provides a fixed attribute value increase in a specific aspect, which directly reflects the player’s growth in combat power. Economic growth in the game is transformed into equipment growth, which in turn enhances the player’s attributes and combat power.
Only a small portion of basic and intermediate equipment items provide additional effects that offer extra attribute bonuses or effects in certain situations. For example, some equipment items provide a burning effect that deals fixed magic damage to surrounding units per second, while others provide a breeze effect that provides additional movement speed after dealing physical damage.
Players can combine basic and intermediate equipment items in their inventory to create advanced equipment, which usually provides a large inherent attribute bonus and a powerful equipment effect that can significantly impact the hero’s playstyle. These advanced equipment items, commonly referred to as “completed items”, offer two types of benefits: they either enhance a specific aspect of the hero’s performance, such as increasing spell power and spell penetration for mages, or they compensate for a specific weakness of the hero, such as increasing survivability for marksmen. The effects of completed items vary, but they are all very powerful. For example, Hurricane Pike allows your normal attacks to split, Abyssal Blade deals extra damage to high health units, and Echo Sabre enhances your normal attack after casting a skill.
In each game, players need to make rational decisions about which equipment to purchase based on their team composition, their own playstyle, and the current status of their equipment and economy.
Feature Systems
The Apocalypse System: In the game, players can choose two out of four types of Apocalypse skills to use in the game. These Apocalypse skills usually have different effects and can be combined with the hero’s own skills and certain equipment for unexpected results. In each series, basic Apocalypse skills also provide some effects, such as the Victory Hymn which allows you to recover health after a kill, the Vision of Jasmine which grants extra cooldown reduction, and the High Heaven Ritual which grants extra magic resistance after using a displacement skill… Compared to other MOBA games, the Apocalypse skills not only have these basic effects, but their main Apocalypse skill effects are also very powerful, which can determine the direction and strategy of the game based on the main Apocalypse skill effect. For example, in the Conquest series, players can carry the ultimate Apocalypse skill: Spear of Ares, which automatically adds a basic attack hit effect every time you release a skill on an enemy hero. Or the ultimate Apocalypse skill of Arcane series: Freya’s Guidance, which allows players to gain extra movement speed and double-piercing after each skill cast; and the ultimate Apocalypse skill of Tenacity series: Life Pump, which can reduce a portion of damage taken and store it in a versatile life pump that can provide protection when low on health or provide damage when chasing. Of course, there is also a unique Trickery series Apocalypse skill, where one skill operates in a chain, allowing you to gain a brief skill refresh after casting several skills in a row. These are just some of the ultimate Apocalypse skills in each series, and there are more interesting Apocalypse skills waiting for you to explore and discover in the game, so you can freely choose your own combination.
The Weather System: There are four different types of weather in the game, which appear before each match. In most cases, the weather will be “clear” without any impact on players, but there is also a chance for “extreme weather” that affects all players with certain attributes. The appearance of extreme weather will determine the attributes of the epic neutral creature in the game, the Giant. Additionally, extreme weather will have specific effects on certain hero skills. Players can know the weather before the match and make appropriate adjustments based on it, which may affect the BAN&PICK or the trend of the entire game.
There is a 60% chance of sunny weather with no impact on players, during which the Giant will be randomly generated. This is the most common and unimpactful weather. The remaining three types of weather will each have a 10% chance of appearing.
Sunstorm weather represents the scorching sun and high temperature, making the entire Vigrid sweltering. It increases character attack, reduces character resistance, and increases character vision. The Fire Giant will definitely appear in this weather.
Thunderstorm weather is characterized by continuous heavy rain that disrupts travel in Vigrid. However, the rain nourishes all living things and brings them vitality. It reduces attack power but all heroes will slowly recover some of their health. The Lightning Giant will definitely appear in this weather.
Blizzard weather is an extreme snowstorm that reduces visibility to the lowest level and causes everything in Vigrid to suffer from cold erosion, slowing down travel. It reduces character movement speed and vision, but all hero skills will have reduced consumption and significant cooldown reductions. The Frost Giant will definitely appear in this weather.
Hurricane weather is characterized by violent hurricanes that ravage Vigrid’s flora, but the power of the wind seems to enhance the mobility of heroes, making their movements more agile. It greatly increases movement speed, but all heroes have a slightly reduced cooldown reduction. The Mountain Giant will definitely appear in this weather.
The design of the weather system is an unprecedented attempt in MOBA history, aiming to increase the diversity of matches, add on-site change factors, and enhance the game’s watchability and fun.
